The Bouncing Souls - I Started Drinking Again
This is a cover of a Dwight Yoakam song. It’s a song about drinking to forget.
“I Started Drinking Again” appears on The Bad, The Worse, And The Out Of Print, released by Chunksaah Records in 2000.
Lyrics:
Since I started drinkin’ again
Since I started drinkin’ again
I ain’t shed one lousy tear over you
Since I started drinkin’ again
I know that the neighbors are all a-talkin’
They swear that I have lost my mind
Ah, but they do not know
That I’ve just gained control
Of all the heartache that you left behind
[Chorus:]
Since I started drinkin’ again
Since I started drinkin’ again
I ain’t shed one lousy tear over you
Since I started drinkin’ again
Well I know that the boss is gonna fire me
When I stumble in late to work again
But surprise will replace that old scowl on his face
When he sees that I do not give a damn
[Chorus:]
Since I started drinkin’ again
Since I started drinkin’ again
I ain’t shed one lousy tear over you
Since I started drinkin’ again
I ain’t shed one lousy tear over you
Since I started drinkin’
Since I started drinkin’
Since I started drinkin’ again

Hot Water Music/Bouncing Souls, Louisville Kentucky, 2011. I am currently working on new Hot Water Music images for a magazine feature next month, listening to the HWM/Bouncing Souls split and it made me think of this image. Hot Water playing the Soul’s True Believer, joined by all members of the Souls. This was easily one of my favorite sets I’ve ever seen.
